“Technology You Can Touch”, a networking event in which inventors and investors came together on a Tuesday evening to promote their inventions and make connections that will benefit both. Although I didn’t actually touch the exhibits, I was touched by their humanitarian value. In this category: motion detecting walking cane for the visually impaired and a device which is intended to help developing countries reduce child birth related deaths.
The turnout was high, as expected. Some other exhibits included motion and sound activated security system that can be accessed through your smart phone or computer (small black and white device pictured below on the left). You can even see the person who broke into your house uninvited. Last, but not least, a device that fingerprints any physical surface. Its main purpose is counterfeit fighting.
Hopefully events like this will become a tradition. Definitely more media coverage is necessary for these type of gatherings and I wish success to all the inventors with their prototypes.
